Effect of Micronutrient and Spray Schedule of Rovral on Alternaria Blight and Yield of Radish Seed

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

There was no significant different among the use of Boron, Zinc & No MN on disease incidence and seed yield. The leaf are 30% was infected at 60 DAT when no fungicides were used but in the sprayed plots the leaf area infection was only 10%. The highest siliqua surface area infection (50%) was in unsprayed plots. Incase of yield significantly lowest yield of 1789.89kg/ha was in unsprayed plots.

Objectives:

To observe the effect of Zn and B on the Alternaria blight disease of radish.

Methodology:

The experiment was conducted at RARS Ishurdi, Pabna during the Rabi season of 2004-2005 to observe the effect of micronutrient (MN) and different spray schedule of Rovral (0.20%) on the incidence of Alternaria blight disease and seed yield of Radish. There were two micronutrient Boron & Zinc. Seeds of Radish were sown on 29th October and were grown as per recommended management practice. Two micronutrient Boron and Zinc were applied before transplanting at the rat of 1kg/ha & 2kg/ha respectively. There were four sub treatments 3 spray schedule of Rovral viz i.4 spray of Rovral at 10 DI, ii.5 spray of Rovral at 10 DI iii. 6 spray of Rovral at10 DI & iv. No spray (control). Spray was started after 40 DAT.

Achievement/Findings:

There was no significant different among the use of Boron, Zinc & No MN on disease incidence and seed yield. It is reveled that 30% leaf area was infected at 60 DAT when no fungicides were used but in the sprayed plots the leaf area infection was only 10%. In case of siliqua surface area infection highest infection (50%) was in unsprayed plots. The infection decreased as the number of spray was increased. Incase of yield significantly lowest yield of 1789.89kg/ha was in unsprayed plots. The yield of 4 sprays; 5 sprays and 6 sprays was identical.
