This year hybridization only in Panikachu was done and its success was so impressive at first time in Bangladesh. All the plants where to GA3 sprayed were flowered. In combination, 35 crosses were made and seeds set in plants well but not matured to harvest yet. In total 35 crosses were made after application of GA3 to plants for flowering.

To create variability and subsequent selection hybridization in aroids

At Joydebpur, 10 germplsms of Panikachu were planted in non-replicated rows of 3 m length on 25 December, 2012. To keep plants health fertilization and other cultural practices was followed as per TCRC recommendation. For flowering only here GA3 was applied to plants. It influences plant to flower smoothly with fertile pollen. Emasculation was done before crossing.
