Jackfruit is the most important fruit tree in Kapasia, FSR&D site and it plays a vital role in the economic development of the rural people of the area. Farmers do not fertilize jackfruit trees and the yield was low. After fertilization the results showed that fertilization in jackfruit trees improved production capacity and generated more cash than those of non-fertilized trees. On an average, production was increased by 30.81 kg/plant which was 38% higher than the unfertilized plants of the base year. On an average each farmer earned extra income of 2257.64 Tk from 7.33 plants.

To increase bearing capacity and production of the existing trees.

To increase bearing capacity and production of the existing trees, 22 bearing trees of 3 selected farmers of different farm categories were fertilized at FSR&D site, Kapasia during 2011. N-P-K was applied @ 323-140-250 g/plant as urea, TSP and muriate of potash. Irrigation and insecticide spray were done as per necessity.
